Preorder your signed 22” x 28” archival art print of my documentary piece exploring the incredible diversity of wildflowers in the Rocky Mountains.
During the field portion of my artist residency with the Bob Marshall Wilderness Foundation and the Glacier Art Museum, I documented over 30 native species of blooming wildflowers. Each of these flowers has a story to tell and a part to play in the fragile, yet majestic, ecosystem of the northwest Rockies. In my sketchbook, I cataloged groupings of flowers as I found them together at different elevation zones. I have laid them down on paper, one by one, in a radiant painting that depicts the species as they rise in elevation towards Headquarters Creek Pass.
With watercolor, gouache, and colored pencil:
Every vein in every petal is a meditation on resilience. Every sepal is a prayer for protection. To draw a thing is to know it, and to know a thing is to love it.
After ten months of work and reflection, I’ve completed this painting and am preparing to exhibit it at the Community Extension and exhibition portion of my residency in Summer 2026, which I do hope you will attend for a chance to view the original work.
The prints come with a signed letter and a wildflower map listing each species represented. They will be available for local pickup in Kalispell, Montana, or will ship rolled in a tube and will arrive before July 1st, 2026.
