Cradle Mountain, Tasmania- Print
I made this painting after exploring the incredible Lake St Clair National Park in Tasmania. This area is a UNESCO World Heritage site and is home to so many really amazing creatures (those peaks were actually the southernmost place in the world where humans were living during the last ice age)! I did a lot of plein air sketching on the trails and back at my campsites, and then used them as reference to create this piece. I tried to capture the wild energy of the stormy skies and the feeling of wonder at such an ancient and beautiful landscape.
